Who has a wakeboard tower on their Larson?
What brand, and are you happy with it?
Thanks

Re: Towers on a Larson

I want to put one on mine but I just dont think the structure can handle the weight and stress. I'm curious to know too. She's a 1997 226 LXi, She's set up to be a real tow boat with the dual prop 5.7 motor, the fairly low freeboard and driver position (pretty forward for a bowrider).

Re: Towers on a Larson

When I bought my larson they said that the boats sold with a tower are glassed differently and if you put an aftermarket tower on them it could effect the lifetime hull warranty. I'd check into it before you do it. Let us know what you decide to do and find out I've tossed the idea around of putting one on mine too.

Good luck!

I am still looking , but I did ask the dealer and they checked my boat hull ID number and it does not have the extra glass reforments option for a tower. but they said they add towers all the time and just use a good stiff metal backing plate and have no problems

I guess I wouldn't fully trust the dealer to install it unless they are willing to give you some type of warranty against hull cracking/damage. My father-in-law has a Sea Ray 260 and from driving with the bimini top up this cracked the top of hull. Granted these are much smaller brackets but Sea Ray ended up sending 2 guys to redo the fiberglass on all of the brackets from the strss fractures that occurred. I would be cautious of having a dealer do something they don't specialize in.

Well I am still undecided about the tower, since we do more tubing and kneeboarding, I bought a 5 foot ski/pylon pole.
Now I have talked with guys who say Larson doesn't like the ski poles installed just forward of the rear bench seat?
I cant see any problems , if its secured down propably.
Does any one on hear have a pole in there boat?
Thanks
Jeff

Roswell is the OEM supplier for Larson I believe.

Lets bump this back up to the top. I have a Larson also and I am thinking about finding a tower. Not really thinking, I know I am going to get one. I just have to scrape up the money. I would like to see some pictures if any one has them. Has anyone ever self installed?

Re: Towers on a Larson

I have a monster tower on mine. I just purchased the boat, but it has been on there for about 4 years, and not problems as of yet. They did not reinforce the back side on the install brackets, but I am thinking about doing that just for added protection. I love the tower, and racks to keep all the toys out of the way. Most likely your bimini will need some major tweaking to make it work with a tower, but it is worth it.!!

Re: Towers on a Larson

I have an 18' Larson with a Joy Stick tower http://www.joystickpylons.com/. I've had it out twice with know problems. The biggest problem was finding a rack and mirror to fit. It's has 2 1/2" pipe very solid and the bracket to boat are heavy with brackets underneath. Going to Lake mead this week so will be giving it the big test.
I'll post pictures when I return.
The guy that put mine on was in San Diego but just moved his business to Tahoe.
I think the Larson's are very solid boats and as long as you have someone that knows what he doing you should be fine.
Good luck.

Re: Towers on a Larson / problem or characteristic of the boat?

Re: Towers on a Larson / problem or characteristic of the boat?

Question for larson owners, I just got a 2007 LXi (with a massive tower incidentally - brand unknown) and it zig zags a lot at speeds below 20 mph. Anyone else have that characteristic or is it a problem with the boat? Otherwise love the boat.

Larsons have this problem at low speeds..prop change can help..
