towing a trailor from Oklahoma to florida and back

A freind went to move his sis back here as her hubby passed away. Here in OK we do not have to tag a trailor that is for personal use. I know other states do use tags, question is, is my freind going to have any trouble passing through states tween there and back here? Is there anything he can do to keep from having problems? Someone told me that he should move the truck tagto the trailor
I would like for him to have a smoth trip back!

I have friends that go back and forth to california with a truck with farm tags and a cargo trailer I think they tag the trailers they use to go out of state to avoid the hassle of out of state law enforcement.

Use the telephone and ask the State Police ..... you might even call the neighboring states that you will travel through.

If he is an Oklahoma resident and the truck he is towing with is also Oklahoma registered, and not a commercial vehicle it won't be a problem. He falls under Oklahoma laws as far as tag and registration goes. Other states cannot enforce their state vehicle registration/tag laws on out of state vehicles.

But.... they can use it for an excuse to pull you over to then notice your out of state. So have paperwork in hand.

Don't swap the truck tag onto the trailer. You'll just be asking to have the whole rig impounded out of state.

Been all over the country pulling a boat with no tags and the only states I have ever had question is Virginia and Georgia.
Kentucky does not require tags on a trailer.
