So I'm looking at a boat that is slightly wider than is technically legal to tow in PA without permits. PA allows 8'6" and what I'm looking at has a 9'6" beam. So, 12 inches wider than legal. So my question is, does anyone in PA have experience in towing a slightly wider than legal boat? Is there an easy permit to get? Anyone just tried the tow it and play dumb method? I'm thinking that if it's only 12 inches wider, I shouldn't have too much trouble. I know no one wants to tell me to break the law. I'm just looking for input.
