I have towing insurance in case I have a major problem out on the water and need a tow back to the ramp. The company is Vessel Assist and the premium is $139.00 per year. It covers a tow of up to 30 miles. I do most all of my boating around Miami and the Florida Keys.

Anybody have any experience with them or could recommend an alternative? - - - Please include cost and brief description of service.

Re: Towing Insurance

So Little, The BoatUS and Sea Tow packages are usually about $100/year, and offer unlimited towing. Of course, it is no good to you if there are no BoatUS or Sea Tow boats where you boat. My standard boating insurance package (Allstate) provides $300 of towing (on the water or on the trailer) insurance(for any towing outfit), as part of the package. If you venture more than 30 miles away from the nearest repair shop, you miht like to look into one of the unlimited packages.
