You could look into getting Timbrens. They are basicall a Hard Rubber bump stop that helps keep the butt of your tow vehicle from sagging. They are cheaper and simpler than air bags. And they work exactly as advertised.

My I6 4.0L 1991 Cherokee really sagged when pulling a 3500# boat. The WD hitch really helped for me and leveled it off pretty good. Did need more hp though, it was slow going...

The guy we bought our boat from towed with a 1st gen Grand Cherokee. I believe it was the V6. He worked for our marine mechanic. He apparantly didn't tow much because during the summer he kept in in the river tied to a tree. He would sleep there and walk to work. He said it did okay, it sagged he said. I remember when we towed the boat away, him being impressed that our Oldsmobile Silhouette had airbags so it didn't sag. He said whenever they did tow his wife complained that he was tearing up the car.

But then our boat weighs more than yours, about 5000 pounds

i wouldnt tow too much with any unibody vehicle.
