Re: towing

Hi, Seadiva.

You are overlooking the information that matters.

Your vehicle has a tow rating based on how it is equipped. Your Chevy dealer can tell you what it is.

Your boat/trailer/equipment and cargo weigh a certain amount. Weigh it on a truck scale and then add the weight on your trailer tongue to that to get your gross towed load weight.

If the trailer, etc., weighs 75% or less of the tow rating you are in fine shape. Otherwise ask your dealer if you can add or change equipment to bring your tow rating up to a safe level.

Good luck. :)

Re: towing

The axel ratio is number of revolutions to one turn of the axel or 342 to 1, in other words, the higher the number the more you can tow. Granted you are towing a large boat, but I have never run ito a suburban that could not tow a house let alone a boat. Contact the GM web page, go to ?? and ask, they will respond in one to two days with the answer.

seadiva:

Your Suburban should be rated around 6,500 - 7,000lbs tow capacity. Have boat weighed with full fuel tank and gear. You should be fine as long as your boat hull is not water logged.
