Hi,

The vehicle is a 1993 Camry V6 LE.

Today I removed the LF (Driver's Door) power window regulator. The cable is damaged and the regulator needs to be replaced My question: What brand regulator should I buy? I see them on the net from $25. on up to well over $100.00.

Is there a brand that I should buy...and/or are there brands that I should avoid?

Any suggestions for a supplier of the good brand(s) at a fair price?

Any other tips for getting everything back together? Taking it apart was easy... :)

Thanks, Chuck

Re: Toyota Power Window Question

I work at a Toyota Dealership and I would advice to hit a junk yard and get an original Toyota part. If that is not possible then go to your best parts store and get one with a warranty. NAPA as an example. Most part stores can get parts in various warranty levels (based on quality).

Since it is not a tough part to repair... either go used original or one with warranty. If you go "new" original it will cost you a small fortune.

Re: Toyota Power Window Question

dolluper...I've run across that part number along with a few others. Who is the manufacturer of that part??

Here's the numbers that I've found to cross-reference:

T462904 Unknown (Prixced at $50-75.00)
1331436 Platinum
741-708 Dorman (Priced at $118.00)
T01350122 PartsLink
69820-06021 Original
125-58461L Hollander
W0133-1611315 TSK (Priced at $213.00)

Do any of these names represent actual manufacturers or are they just distributor's #'s.

Do any of them stand out as being preferable?

Thanks folks...Chuck

Re: Toyota Power Window Question

Hey Bob_VT...

I bet that's the regulator without the motor. All the aftermarket sites sell the regulator with the motor as a unit.

My local Toy dealer quoted me $130 this morning for the regulator w/o the motor. I imagine that's what I'll do; since my motor is fine.

Makes you wonder though....there are guys on ebay selling these things (with the motor no less) new...for $25.00 (plus shipping) . I'm tempted to order one just to see how crappy they are.

After all; how can they make that assembly...box it up and ship it over to the US...and sell it for $25.00 (and that's RETAIL!)

Thanks to all you guys,
Chuck
