I was following the procedures for link and sync with my 1997 250HP 3.1L OX66. When I got to the TPS I had voltage readings of 4.8 volts. Thats right 10 times the .48 volts my manual said to look for. I know how to read a volt meter and I was reading 4.8 volts. I even grapped a second meter to check and it also read 4.8. If I adjust it all the way down it only goes to about 4.3 volts. I removed the TPS and if I move it manually I can get .48 volts, but I dont see a way to install it where it is at .48 volts with the throttle plates closed. Is the sensor going bad? Am I going crazy? At aproximately 3.2 volts it sounds like the HP pump turns on briefly. I started the link/sync process because I am having inconsistent and wierd problems, especially at idle. I also found the CPS out of adjustment (way to close to flywheel .010).
