Trade 17P ss Johnson prop for 17P Merc ss prop

Hi, I have a Steiltto #21417 like new 4 blade Johnson/OMC 13 1/4 x 17 SS 13 spline and need a 17P ss for my 90hp Merc. Anyone want have one to trade?

Why not just rehub it for the Merc?

The 4 blade is to much for the 90hp 4 stroke merc. If it were a 3 blade I might consider it. Also, is it may need a spacer (OMC to Merc) which I do not have either.

The Stiletto 4 blade will run higher than a Stiletto 3 blade. The 90 should then be able to turn the 4 blade the same as a three blade. Once you rehub it for Merc your Merc thrust washer should work.

Wow, cool, sounds like you know a lot about props. I called 2 prop shops today asking if I could re-hub this Stiletto #21417 from the 13 spline to a 15 spline and they said no way! They said the prop would not take the 15 spline hub and besides that a special funnel was necessary to re-hub that is very long and a pain in the but. But they also told me that Stiletto did not make that prop in a 13 spline hub!
I always thought I could press out the old and press in the new after soaking the prop and hub in warm water. Shows what I know about props.

So I will be trying to sell this prop (Stiletto 13spline 13 1/4 x 17 #21417 in perfect condition and buy a new prop. I spun the hub in my stock prop so I am high and dry until I buy a new prop.

Let me know your thoughts.

After reading this and your other post I'm convinced that the prop shops either don't understand what you need to do or don't know beans about props in general and Stiletto specifically.

Don't talk to them in spline count, tell them you need to rehub this prop to fit a 90 Merc. I believe they think you want to put it on a V6 OMC that has 15 splines.
