Doesnt look like he's in rut?
They sure can jump . I watched two guys on quads flat out chasing a stag across a paddock as I drove down the road parallel to them, when the quads hit the brakes and give up the chase , twas then I realised the stag had cleared the fence at the end of the paddock without even braking stride.I keep seeing a couple deer eating berry’s off the bush and when I walk by they flip out and jump
over a 6’ fence like it’s nothing. It amazes me every time. I’ll have to try and get it on vid one day but it happens so fast could be tricky to catch.
Saw an uptick of bucks actively chasing doe on cam at night. Then it was like a switch was thrown and they started moving in daylight.I have 3 different bucks coming in ... 2 are shooters ... but none during daylight and certainly no pattern ... darn funeral today is keeping me out of the woods ...
If you're worried about it's survival I recon you could feed it.Can’t remember seeing such a young tiny fawn this late before. Hope she makes through winter.

Stuff happens. A guy I was with did that. I put it in my trunk, his truck was faced the other way on the road, he went one way I went the other. I came around to the intersection and he had a stop sign, I didn’t but the warden was checking his truck out, I just continued on my way, not even looking at them. It did make camp meat so it didn’t get wasted. Close as I ever want to get with the wardens! Never did that again!A friend of mine told me a story about the time he shot one by accident. I guess it was so small it fit in the tool box in the back of his truck. He didn’t want it to go to waste so he took a chance and hauled ass home with it.
