Trail camera issues fixed, now pics....

Had to go mention ticks. One of my firewood stacks was leaning so I went to straighten it out. I forgot I have strips of tarps stapled on top of them. Walked back to the garage to get a screw driver and needle nose to pull staples. Walking back to the wood I looked down at my gloves and the one was loaded with ticks and a few on my arm. At least 10! They must have been in the leaves where I set my gloves for a couple minutes. Never saw that many in one spot. Glad my dogs can’t get to that area.

I have found the lone star on me the past 3 days in a row. They were just crawling and hadn’t dug in yet so that’s a plus.

Have you tried permethrin? You apply to your clothes. It last for days. I’ve seen a marked reduction of ticks on me when I’m in the woods.

I'd rather run into a bear any day than a kittie...... Them cats are stalkers....

I did have a bear lunge at me a few years ago ... killed a 7 point and went over to it to prepare for gutting. I heard a noise and looked up and a bear was on the 75 yard blood trail, nose to the ground. I yelled and it stopped and looked up. Kept coming to about 20 yards away and kept pacing back and forth ... it wanted that deer. I pulled out my pocket pistol and shot the tree beside him to scare him off. He didn't budge. So I shot into the soft ground in front of him and he shook his head and looked at me like, "What kind of an idiot are you?" We had a stand-off for a while, his front paws were on a log. I am not sure if it was a lunge or the log rolled, but he came at me and immediately stopped and walked about 75 yards away, watching. I gutted the deer with my rifle in one hand and before I was out of site with the deer the bear was on the gut pile.

I am not afraid of bears, but I will respect them.

I have especially on my shoes and socks but they always seem to find a place that I can see.

I tend to stay indoors. Had an old cur dog that would drag them in. I miss him, not so much the tics.
