Do I need carpet over my trailer boards for my pontoon boat. The last boards only lasted 3 years due to rotting. The boat was kept under a shed.

Re: trailer boards

The carpet provides a little cushioning on the toons when you are loading (if you "power load" like I do) and also towing the boat down the road. You don't need to completely wrap the boards -- just the tops and sides to allow the water to drain off and the boards can dry easier. Don't use pressure treated boards.

Re: trailer boards

looks like your in the south, you might like the black plastic a lot better

now tell us where you found large boards, my lumber store only carries them to 20 foot and I need 24 footers :embarassed:
