Trailer - Cross member needed???

I swapped out my trailer (the old one was too short for the 16' starcraft nassau I'm rehabing) for this calkin's. I even made $10 on the deal. I decent deal for a trailer w/ larger tires and heaver frame.

I was thinking of changing over to bunks but it only has 2 cross members. Wouldn't I need at least three to attach some bunks too. Also I think it may need a roller up front some where. Any ideas on what I can do ??.

I personally would add another cross member, actually I'd add two. One up towards the front of the trailer and one between the existing ones.

Would the trailer be fine the way it is, w/ 2 keel rollers and the wobble roller set up the way they are? It just seems that there is not a lot of support there.
Boat set up should be 1000 pounds maybe w/ motor.

1000 lbs / 10 rollers = 100 lbs per roller..... as long as it is adjusted for the boat it will be FINE

if it still bothers you though you could put two keel rollers on each crossmember

Thats good info to know, Thanks! I guess I should wait and see how the boat sits on it. I checked the spec's on the boat 1966 Starcraft Nassau 520 pounds the motor is about 275-300 pounds maybe (65hp). Its has 8 wobble rollers and 2 keel rollers so it should be fine. I may still do a change over to bunk. I have plenty of time because the boat is in restore mode, primered and waiting for paint, but its been too cold here and I can't quite get the garage warm enough (50 degrees if I'm lucky) to apply the paint.

I have a similar galvanized trailer. The original boat I had went on correctly first time-every time. The second boat has a flat riding pad and NEVER goes on correctly. I too have been toying with the idea of converting to bunks--just too much P.I.A.

I added two flat plates on either side of the center rollers and added four more center rollers for three on each cross member. Now, with three center rollers and four wobble rollers the load is more nearly equal on all rollers and a bit less too.
