I have a single axle trailer. On the backside of the fenders are a carpeted wooden piece. I guess you would consider it a splash guard? Not really sure of the name. Any way mine are rotten and starting to fall apart. Where do I purchase new ones? If I cant purchase them is there a pattern out there could follow to make new ones? Should I stick with wood or change to something more water resistent? Please advise.

I had a similar problem. I went to local vinyl window supply house and bought a 4'x8' sheet of 5/8 PVC. It was about $100. Then, I stopped by Lowes and purchased some exterior grade carpet, 1/4 stainless steel staples and 1/4 hot dipped galvanized bolts, washers and nuts. I came home and used cardboard to make my patterns. Once I got my PVC pieces cut to fit (with mounting bolt holes drilled) I covered the PVC pieces with the exterior carpet and mounted them to the trailer. When I sold the boat and trailer years later those PVC pieces were as solid as the day I installed them. Maybe you can do something similar to meet your need.

If you are talking about the parts of the trailer that the boat rests on while on the trailer , they are called 'bunks'.

Nah, sounds like someone made some ghetto mud flaps out of carpet.
