I was answering this kind of tongue in cheek.

We have no idea what you have for a tow vehicle.
What you will be towing, or the weight class hitch you are in need of. 1000# ? 3500# ? 10,000# ?

There are literally dozens of good trailer manufacturers.
Some make great 18' trailers, but not so good 30' trailers
Some make really cheap 14' trailers, but really step their game up on their 20' trailers.

What size are we talking about?
Length of boat?
Weight of boat?
Salt water use or freshwater only?
Budget, or luxury model?
Aluminum or steel?
Roller? or bunk ?

I will be towing Yamaha 242 Limited S, 24 footer. Dry weight is about 3600. My car is Lexus LX470.
Boat will be in a boatel most of the time but I want to trailer it from time to time for weekend trips. Fresh and salt water. I prefer lighter weight of Aluminum. Not sure about bunk or roller. I think I might need weight distribution. I prefer luxury but not over the top

3600 + fuel, gear, batteries,plus
So you are looking at 4400# capacity trailer, or larger.

Karavan aluminum bunk SLT-5800-TDB-78-LFB-L
Trailer weighs 1400#

There are plenty of good trailers out there, but what is available in your area?

Same goes with hitches, many available, but what is available locally, that will fit your vehicle and carry the load?

Its gonna have brakes on it, can't use wt distributing hitch with surge brakes.

Re: Trailer hitch and trailer brand?

GVWR: Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
The MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE WEIGHT of the fully loaded vehicle, including liquids, passengers, cargo, and the tongue weight of any towed vehicle.

GCWR: Gross Combination Weight Rating
The MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE COMBINED WEIGHT of the tow vehicle and the attached towed vehicle. GCWR assumes that both vehicles have functioning brakes.
The GCWR for the 2006-7 LX470 is 12,240#.

A trailer has similar ratings.
A gross rating which includes the trailer and cargo.
A capacity rating which is the load it can carry.

I've always been happy with U-Haul hitches. Can't add anything to trailer brands discussion.
