Trailer needs help

I bought a trailer that is structurally sound but needs to have the roller and bunk brackets replaced. The nuts and bolts holding them look like they came from the Titanic. They are fused together and the metal is all flaked. Nuts are so bad, that you can't even get a wrench on them. Should I try cutting them off with my saws all, or use my grinder with a cutting blade. Is there an easier way.

I always use the grinder with a cutting wheel on it.

When I have that problem, I try to get it a little loose somehow or another. Then, I go in with the sawzall between the frame, and whatever I am cutting. A hammer and a punch will then knock the remnants of the bolt free from the hole in the frame, and you can replace them with stainless steel.

Agree, use a grinder or cut off wheel.

I'm like TD. I love to use my cutting torches but a grinder works fine also... either air or electric...

I agree that torching or cutting them off with grinder but it may damage the bracket in the process. I would first try WD-40 and vise grips on them. Let WD-40 sit overnight and give it a try.

Who cares about the brackets... if they're rusty cut em off and toss em... then get good galvanized ones for a few bucks each... Just don't cut the cross members! :)
