Trailer question?

I have a 19' Wellcraft that has a pulpit on the bow. If my truck and trailer aren't sitting just perfect on the ramp the pulpit hits the trailer winch when loading on the trailer. I have to get my back under the bow and lift while someone cranks the winch. Anybody ever experience this? I have thought about lowering the winch but don't know if this would have any adverse effect. Any other suggestions?

You may have your trailer in too deep when you launch/retreive.

You may want to try moving the truck up the ramp a few feet when the pulpit gets that close. Then get out and winch it up the rest of the way.

Or look at adding a roller to the trailer. A nice wide one across the front of the trailer to force the bow upward into position.

sounds a bit deep to me as well. my bow eye will hit the bow support if i have the trailer too deep.

Re: Trailer question?

Assuming you guys are right I guess this boat/trailer combo is different than my old one. With my old boat I had to back down till the top of the fenders were just out of the water to float the boat on. Guess 10 years of doing that is a hard habit to break. Will try not backing down as far next time I go out.
