My boat trailer a 1983 Bassmaster currently has 13 inch wheels with P165/80R13 tires which need to be replaced. I cannot use any bigger, the fender clearance is nil. Would 5.30x12 tires range C & wheels work?

Re: Trailer Tire Question

Two things come to mind.
Make sure the load ratings on the tires are adequate for the weight of the boat.
Make sure that the bolt circle on the wheels is the same as the studs on your hub.
And with smaller diameter tires, your bearings will be spinning faster- not sure if that is an issue.
Guess that's three things, not two.

+1
Load capacities the same?
The 12's are going to spin much faster. Your bearings are going to require more maintenance, and will have to be replaced more often.
