Trailer had some old rusty bunk brackets and the carpet was falling off. Decided it was time to re-do all of that while I have the boat off the trailer painting the bottom anyway.
Spent a good coin as much of the hardware and even the brackets are not cheap, but hopefully all worth it. Especially while the boat isnt on the trailer so I had great access to work on the trailer...
Let me know what you think. Only thing that really changed from the original setup was that I only have one bolt running through each bracket through the wood bunk and tightened down. The previous one did have two. Dont think it really makes it any stronger or not, but this is the way it worked out.
- Re-carpetted both bunks
- New hardware (Stainless U-bolts, Stainless bolts)
- New brackets ( Aluminum )
- Monel staples holding down the carpet
