Trailers, which would be the ideal way to go?

so, my boats (67 winner 15') trailer, I dont think is really a boat trailer, more of a utility trailer supporting a boat.

The bota sita about 3.5' off the ground

my concern with this is will my car be able to launch it? or with it needing to go in so deep, will it just run off the ramp. also, the trailers corners scare me.

there are no bunks (i think there called) more of just some rollers

and as you can see, the front most rolers arent even supporting anything

now, i have this old trailer in the back yard, that origionally helf a 70's tri-hull:

would that be a better trailer choice?

keep in mind i dont have a truck, Im using my 95 caprice to launch it. so no 4x4, posi, and not very tall

I'd swap it to the spare trailer.It should put the boat much closer to the water.
Thats the reason I just swapped my trailers Had to get the rear axle into the water to launch or retrieve.

I would try it with your car. It is a pretty decent tow vehicle for a car, and your boat isn't real big. As I recall those Chevys still had a real frame. As for floating your boat, it will depend on the ramp. I have a boat about the same size as yours. On some ramps I never get my feet wet. On others I I really have to wade into the water. You can always get the other trailer.

That's a great looking tow vehicle, but where do you sit? And where does the wife go?

Oh, and I'd use the 2nd trailer also. Nice wide bunks will support it well. Then sell the utility trailer

how should i carpet the bunks? just plain ole house carpet?

home depot sells a 18"-24" carpet runner, high quality, holds up well i split it and use it for bunks. here's my new project very similar to yours. it drove on yesterday, perfectly straight.
