Well my Humminbird 385ci will arrive today but I am heading up north tomorrow morning with the boat. I kind of wanted to get this thing installed prior to my trip but am afraid I won't have enough time. I am hoping I can get the transducer mounted tonight and do the rest when I arrive. I would even be open for a temporary mount of the unit until I get back and have access to all tools. I already have a depthfinder with a hole drilled where the transducer cable goes through the stern up to the finder.
I am guessing I will need power wire, ground wire, butt connectors and terminal connecters, electrical tape, drill / drillbit, crimps, etc.
Is there anything else I am forgetting that I should bring with for this install?
If I have to drill a hole for the transom mount transducer I am assuming I will want to fill the wholes with something? What is this something? Can I get it locally? I've heard 3M makes 2 adhesives, 1 permanent and 1 not so permanent.
