I have a undien QT-206 right now i have a transducer (old one that came with boat) its glued in the bilge, im needing help with a good location to put new one on back of boat. The old one gives crazy depth readings and i heard that there not very accuate glue in the bilge. a have attached a pic of the back of boat so someone can tell where to put it. that would make it work better. and can this be glued on the back without using screws. thanks

Re: Transducer help!!!

Mount it about six inches to the right of the speedometer pitot. Use screws -- there is no problem with that. Seal the threads and predrill the hole. When you mount the transducer make sure its pointed straight down -- don't angle it following the angle of the hull.

Re: Transducer help!!!

does the flat side of the transducer face the back and the pointy part to the front?

Yes, pointy towards the bow. As Silvertip said, use ss screws with 4200 on them. Anything glued below the waterline will not stay long. Your bracket will have slots for vertical adjustment. Mark for your drill in the middle of the adjustment slot when the bottom of the transducer is about 1/8 to 1/4" below the transom. You may need to fine tune it as you go.

Re: Transducer help!!!

The problem with 5200 is that it is more permanant and you might risk breaking off the thin ss screws if you must adjust it. You would probably be fine with 5200, I just prefer 4200 on things that might need to be removed.
