One of my transducers is leaking a dark colored sticky substance, does it need replacing? Are all transducers the same or do I match it to my fish finder (hummingbird)?

If it's leaking from the seam where it's put together than yes, time to replace it. The stuff you see is the sound conductive fluid. This fluid is used to transmit the sound from the transducer, thru the housing and into the water and back. Without the fluid, it will not work well or not at all. Naval ships use seawater under preassure to do this.

While many FF may use the same frequency, the connector end is usually different. What HB model do you have? There might be more than one HB transducer that will work for you.

If it is an old unit, might want to continue to use it until you do see degradation, and research/buy a new unit in the mean time.
