hey,

im putting my old fish finder on my new boat, but i cant find the instructions for the transducer placement diagrams... i tried searching through the old posts to find some help, but i couldnt find anything...

so if someone could tell me where to place the transducer on the exterior of the transom... i know it goes towards the bottom, but i dont know if it should hang below the boat, or be level with the bottom of the boat or can it just be anywhere on the transom as long as its in the water???

please let me know soon, as i am installing this as we speak, and this is the last step...

thanks again for your help...

Level with the bottom of the boat is the traditional placement location. What type of unit are you using?

Re: transducer placement???

Do not place it in line with any protrusions on the bottom of the boat (strakes, etc) as this creates bubbles that prevents the sonar from working properly. Keep it way from the motor for the same reason. It needs to be in contact with the water so flush to just a tad below the hull is necessry.
