Re: transducer problems

Did you install the transducer in line with a strake or some other protrusion on the bottom of the boat?

Re: transducer problems

SILERTIP im positioned the transducer 16 inches away from the prop as stated from in the instructions. Then i found a happy middle inbetween the to steps on the hull and marked there... the instructions says position the bracket 1/4 in from the bottom of the hull and i did. It says the transducer should at this point be level with the lower hull and it basically is or at least really damn close to it.. But in the water it looses depth at anything above 15 Im going to post a pict..... Ull see in the pict a spot where an old tranducer was that I filled in...

Re: transducer problems

It looks high to me. Try lowering it the amount you have left in the slots and have it tilt down slightly as bhile suggests.

Re: transducer problems

The transducer is way too high and will not work at above trolling speed.
Both sides of the transducer have to be below the hull. The side closest to the motor is above the hull. The normal starting point is with the transducer side cloest to the motor about 1/2 below the hull.
Also in the picture it look to far from the motor or too close to the chime.
Chimes at High speed may not even be in the water. Where you old transducer was looks like a better spot to me.

Also it looks like you should move your bow stop back so the transducer will never hit the bunk with the boat cranked all the way up.
