I may get banned form here for even suggesting this on a pontoon forum, but I just don't think the old girl is up for a rebuild. I have stripped the furniture and floor off plus removed the engine. The transom is in pretty rough shape. It is cracked or broken or has already been repaired in several places, probably due to the weight of the 120 Force that was mounted on it. The rest of the frame is good and straight except where it is welded to the pontoons. One side has about three areas that need to be repaired and the other side has numerous areas. More precisely, at the point where the weld is on the pontoon. I have a friend that can repair it, but still there is the issue of the transom and of course the Force engine to put back on it. I believe I would rather sell it for a floating dock. Does anyone have a pontoon for a dock? I was thinking of using a treated 2x4 across each stringer and covering the top with 5/4 x 6 to let the water go through. Pro's ....Cons...? Without the motor and all the furniture I don't think the weight would be an issue, also I have a pool slide that I was going to mount on it for extra fun. It will be sold with the trailer so it could be removed in the winter if need be, although the trailer appears to be homemade it does get the job done. It goes under the trailer and the stringers sit right on the supports. Will I have trouble selling this or should I just scrap it while I have the floor off?
