i have a mercruiser 350 with alpha 1 outdrive. the boat is a 1979 2650 fiberform. i was wondering if anyone can tell me in terms of dia. and pitch what prop is on the boat. it is a three blade aluminum prop with "99 b&s 611" stamped on the side of the hub. approx. measurements show it to be around 16". there is only about 1/2" clearance between the prop and lower.

Re: translate #'s on prop

I recomend finding a local prop shop. A good shop may cost you an extra $10 compared to a online retailer however they can scan your old prop, lookup data on your boat, and see what type of cup to put in for your boat model. Why not get the most efficient prop saving fuel and getting more torque and mph. Most sizing will be stamped on the inner hub. My guess is a balistic prop made in1999 However I believe most alpha props are 15" dia
it is too dificult to br sure. I just sent my old prop in to find that it was 1.34 inches twisted out of spec not visible to the naked eve but would cause vibration issues. I say find a good prop guy Its worth it.
