Hello All,
It's been a while since I have had to post but here I am, only 3 weeks after purchaseing my new boat. I am currently running a 34 Hatteras with 454 pleasure craft engines (400 hr) with borg warner velvet drive 1.91:1 transmisions.

Major symptom:
After cruiseing for about an hour an a half at 2800 rpm and 18kts I suddenly lost power in my stbd engine. I ideled back and put the engin in nuetral. Things seemed ok but it wouldn't rev over 2k. Also felt a little warm. I went through the fuel and raw water cooling everything checks out. Start up 30 min latter no prob, revs up no prob, but when I put it in gear and I get a terrible rumbling in fwd or rev. trans has oil.

Minor symptoms:
Prior to incident the stbd engine would not rev up to full rpm under a load, about 3300 rpm.
Prior to incident, when in neutral and running the shaft would turn over slowly.
After incident I made way with one engine, when towing the stbd engine would free wheel in the current even when not running and engine in gear.
After incident when running and clutched ahead or astern I hear a terrible rumble and grinding comeing from what I think is the transmission, also rpms drop about 200rpm when clutched in. This never happened befor, rpm remained steady at an idle in or out of gear.

I hobbled into the nearest marina with one engine and 6-8 seas and "Clewles" remains there now awaiting the estimates of the local mechanic, I haven't heard anything yet. This happened yesterday.
Thanks in advance
Matt
