mine has too much on the cap to do mine with it on the boat........... wish i could do it that way.

i was thinking i would be lucky because of the way the boat sits on the trailer.

if you look at the pic of the back of my boat you can see the strakes close to the roller........... this is where the stringers go.

it only has 2 stringers and in between them is 1" plywood glassed in to the bottom making the keel appear flat from inside, i guess giving it some more back bone.......... nothing flexes at all with the stringers gone... now when i get the 1" piece out i may have some problems.

the only piece of 1" that is rotten is the small piece at the bow, but when i drilled a test hole the wood was damp so i have to replace it too.......... not to mention probably 6" of faom in the bow (if measured in the center anyways) and from what i can tell only about an inch down the rest of the keel.......... but every pound counts when your boat only holds 600# of people :D:D
