transom boot Whats the secret to getting it back on?

So I put a new motor in my Boat. (165 hp 0mc) and I am trying to get the transom boot back on, and it's being a (BLLLEEEEPer)

so is there a trick to help make it easy. I get the hose clamp ove one side the other side slips of... I feel like I am chasing a monkey.... around and around... theres gotta be a better way...

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

Years ago when I used to do this, I'd glue the boot onto the upper g/c with 3m-847 and leave it sit for a couple of hrs. Then I'd put the clamp on and tighten good. After that i'd put some sealer on the transom and install the ring and boot to the transom using sealer on the screws.

I had that problem once and found the quickest fix was to scream, "honey, come out here for a minute".
once I had 2 sets of hands, I got it. lol

Thanks for the input I;ll give the adhesive a try.

As for the wife... she just got he nails done today so I doubt it LOL
