Transom Compostion

It's hard to believe that an 89 Ebbtide used just wood and fiberglass to build a transom that you hang a 300 plus pound motor on. When I repaired the floor this summer, there were two metal plates that anchored the seats to the floor. Is there any metal bracing or support in the transom?

That is the same way 99% of the transoms are built.
