Transom core - 1997 Champion 186 DCX Elite

Can someone tell me what core material was used in 1997 Champion 186? I've searched and can't find the answer. Looking at buying a used one, but have had bad experience with Nitro and the plywood core being rotted. Don't want to go through that replacement process again!!

Thanks. I was hoping it has some kind of composite that was water resistant. May still buy the boat, but I'll be sure to check over the transom real good.
