Make two wood blocks with the same profile as the part. Round router (1/2" radius) the edge of the wood block that takes the bend. Cut a piece of sheet-aluminum (.093") and trace and extra half inch or so wherever the bends are and cut out the corner. Clamp the flat sheet between the boards and form with rubber mallet. You'll need a bit of springback angle in the wood, so maybe a 100 degree angle in the form block. The part will "springback" a bit, so if the block is 90 degrees and you form, the part will have an 80 degree bend, so you need a larger angle to compensate.
I have access to Autocad and 3 CNC mills, actually a full machine and fab shop. I was considering a winter Starcraft project. I would like to make some of the ends for the rubrail first. I don't know what they are called, they look like arrowheads. After that maybe transom corners. Mine are gouged up a bit.
If the dealer stills carries this stuff I'll buy from them. If not I'll eventually make some (extras to share). They don't look too hard to make. Don't tell my boss. keep it on the hush.
How many different styles are there? One or two sizes fit all?
