transom height from keel for 78 evin 70hp

Can anyone tell me what the distance from keel to mounting edge of the transom should be for a 78 Evinrude 70..... it is a 25 " long shaft.....new at this !!!!!

I didn't think they made a 25" 3 cylinder 70. If that's what you have the transom should be 25" but I think you may have a 20" motor. Unless you have a 75 then it may be a 15" motor. Where are you measuring from? It should be from under the mounting "ears" to the antiventilation (cavitation) plate just above the propshaft.<br /><br />Good luck!

checked again, right on 20", thanks for the input.

Good. Your transom should measure right about 20 3/4". <br /><br />Sounds like youre all set!
