transom plate

i have a 1984 hydra sport boat with a 140 johnson outboard and i am looking for a "stump jumper" plate for the transom i dont plan on running over stumps but it does happen and i dont want to ruin my transom any ideas where i can find one i can find them for 130 hp all day long but nothing over ??

are the jack plates the same as the one in the link below ?? i thought the jack plates moved the motor back from the transom and then you could move them straight up and down will they "break away" like this one...as far as when you hit a stump or a small limb under the water it jumps up and over what ever you hit

Jack plates are not the same, they will not break away. Your motor is only a 140 and my experience with CMC products is that they are way overbuilt and extremely strong so I wouldnt worry about it too much. And anyway your motor with todays ratings probably wouldnt rate as a 140 anyway, more like a 115.
