Transom Question with Offshore Boats

Have a 24' Carolina Skiff 2400 Offshore. With the trailer, it measures 32'. The enclosed storage I have is 32'. With the motors trimmed up and the "resting plate" switched down on the motors, I cannot get the doors closed. If I trim the motors down (about 6" off the ground), I can get it in snug.

Will this cause problems with my transom down the line (as in needing to be replaced because of weight distribution)? Should I look into a break-away tongue?

Boat storage is very pricey in my area and the place I am in is a good deal.

Motors should be stored in the down postion if possbile for enviromental porposes. No harm to transom either way.

also better for your motors for a lot of reasons. just remember to rtaise them before you get out of the storage unit, a small hump can get you.
