Rebuilding transom on my alumacraft trophy 170, was wondering if 2 sheets of 3/4 of marine board or 3 sheets of 1/2 would be stronger

2 sheets of 3/4" with fiberglass or carbon fiber in between are very strong.----But if there is room I would go with 3 layers of 3/4" plywood.-----Nothing wrong with not having to worry.-----If going with 4 stroke motor I would definitely make it strong !

Unfortunately not enough room, has the screw in splash pan and the cap over transom is 1.5in and are you saying to lay like fiber Mat with ressin in-between the sheets? Was thinking about glueing them together and wrapping both boards with Matt and resin, then installing drilling holes and p

Are you saying to lay fiber mat between the boards? Was just gonna glue it and then wrap whole assembly in Mat and resin, then was gonna install drill holes and pull out, make holes bigger to like 1 inch and fill with short strand and resin do even if boots leak a little bit it wouldn't matter to much and use 5200, don't have room for an extra board because splash tray is screwed to the transom and the trim outside is only 1.5 inch thick, only had a 90's evinrude 115 on it so not super heavy but the lake I fish does get some pretty serious white caps in a hurry so would like it to possible take a beating if it needs to, redoing whole boat so it's in a million pieces at the moment so open to new ideas
