So from the forums i understand i have a shoe box hull? the boat is a 1975 Chapparal ???bowrider???.. Anyway, I need to do a transom, and was going to go the Seacast route unless i can safely cut what i need to to access the back 2-3 inches of the boat to get at the whole transom.
ALSO i would like to know that even if i did a wood transom, make the template off the shape of the back, does the wood have to fit perfectly for strentgh? meaning no possible space between the wood and each individual angle of the fiberglass??? or do i get a good template and fill gaps with resin?
Question is will i weaken the boat since ill be cutting the port and starboard sides of the very top of the cap
does anyone have a workup on this with pics?
Thanks
