I have a little 50hp on a 14' bayliner I put the motor up in the lock position and tilt it to the right with a strap holding it down so's not to jump up and down when under way. Is this ok or should I use a transom saver? My trailer bracket is so far under the boat that the arm for the saver would have to be around 4' or so.

I personally would trail it with it down if you have sufficient ground clearence ..if not do you have a bung hole or similar you can slot one end of the support bracket into....a photo would help

9.jpgThere should be a trailer bracket for that motor. e-bay. See pic #24.You put it in place and lock it down with the lock switch.
Probably easier to get the transom saver.
Like Fucawi said if you have the room drive with it down.J

Transom saver all the way. I store and trailer with it on. You can use one of your keel rollers if one is back far enough.

OK I HAVE A BAYLINER WITH THE SAME SETUP OF TRAILER YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. IT TOOK A FEW WEEKS OF SEARCHING AND TRYING THEN RETURNING SEVERAL DIFFERENT SAVERS. I FOUND THIS ONE AND IT WORKS AWESOME NO COMPLAINTS ON IT. OK SO THIS ISNT THE EXACT ONE I FOUND THE ONE WITH OUT THE SPRING SHOCK PART ON IT. HOLDS GREAT AND DOESNT BOUNCE AROUND AT ALL. ONLY ONE THING I JUST THOUGHT OF IT HAS TO GO LOWER ON THE MOTOR THEN I LIKE BUT THIS WINTER I AM GOING TO TRY MOVING A PIECE TO THE LOWER PART OF THE ASSEMBLY AND SEE HOW IT MOUNTS THEN. HOPE IT HELPS.

some pics. I think the motor is to close to the groung. I like the one TMALEGA sent but I will have to put a plat on the frame for it, no big deal.View attachment 118992

Yea the hardest part for me to put that plate on was the drilling, i was unable to get the boat to the lake to remove the boat from teh trailer prior to mounting it. This one does really well for the design of the trailer.

I was told not to use a t-savor unless you have power tilt (and I don't)
