I have a 20 foot Bentley with a 50 Mercury. It is 35 or so miles to the lake one way and I need a transom saver. I would like to hear from some of you that have bought them both good and bad before I make a decision on which one to buy. It seems that it will need to be around 44 inches long. Are straight or curved better? Any particular brands that you guys like?
Thanks.

Re: Transom Saver Question

The transum saver that came with my boat is easy to use but it's taking a beating where it attaches to my trailer. The rubber V that cradles the lower unit is starting to split, I'll replace the whole thing with something beefier this fall.

You can look at the reviews at BassPro to get an idea of how well they work. Mine gets only 1 1/2 stars b/c if fails so early.

I tow 24 miles one way to the lake and have been out 8 times this summer.
