MY wife says it depends on the size and condition

I suppose you are right.

However, what exactly is "you know what"

I don't think they allow pornography here so keep it clean

That's just silly. Your not going to hurt the trim cylinders with that little of weight.

The possiblity does exist that your trim system leaks down and let your motor come in contact with the road. A simple solution for this is to cut a short piece of 2 x 4 and hold it in position with the trim. The other is use something like the "wedge" . google m-ywedge or details

If you have a Mickey Mouse transom then all bets are off.:D

i go w dingbat; i keep 50 hp motor mostly down and stick a piece of axe handle tween it and mount and lower engine till the pressure is off the trim pistons; this seems like the very best deal all around.;)

Has anyone ever seen the way a outboard will violently bounce after you run a tire over a curb by accident? I've had it bounce so good it bounces the truck. Potholes, washboard, etc, watch the way the back of the boat and engine react at any speed over 5mph and you'll be singing a different tune.

For those that say a transom under power experiences more force than trailering think about the physics behind a boat in water. It is much much easier to lift the bow of the boat while it is sitting in water than it is when it is hooked up to the hitch. Weight distribution across the surface of the water makes it fluid and evenly distributed, you hit a wave @ 40mph and much of the force is fluidly distributed to the hull and in the drag of the prop. I have never seen a outboard bounce like after hitting a pothole on the road like anything on the when on the water, with exception of hitting a large log or something...but thats a whole other problem!

jump off a 10ft dock into the water or jump off a 10ft deck on to pavement? Which one shocks your knees better?
