Re: Transom Savers
I tow my inflatable down all sorts of rough roads, dirt roads and beaches. I tilt my outboard to get better ground clearance while towing. The tilted motor leverages on the transom considerably and bouncing along will create a lot of dynamic loading. I use a transom saver to minimize the loading and you can see the difference in motion when it is installed.
If you carry your outboard vertically aligned a transom saver isn't going to help, but you might strap the motor to the boat to keep it secured tightly. Be sure to watch the dips and bumps so you don't pimp your case!
