So after replacing all the bellows, I find myself with a new small leak!!!
I believe it is the exhaust tube O-ring, but I am tired of screwing about, so it is all coming out.
But what I do not know is when you set the new transom plate ring in, What else you use for sealing. IE 4200?????
Does any one have the instruction sheet.
And what about the rubber o-rings on the bolts?

MR, drive

The service manual does not touch on this can anyone walk me through it??

Thanks

Rob

Ayuh,... Transom plate ring,..??

The transom is sealed by the fit of the outer transom assembley, against the transom...
No glue, No o-rings on the studs...

Assuming you are talking about the large rubber oring seal (#13 in picture below), The picture is from a Merc Alpha I Gen II, you failed to mention what you have.
After removing the old ring and cleaning and painting the groove to prevent corrosion, I just glue the rubber seal into the transom plate to hold it in place for installation. No sealants of any kind needed.
I use bellows adhesive because it works and I always have it handy.
This is typical on any outdrive, Merc, OMC or Volvo
