transom seal kit 1985 120 horse mercruiser

Does anyone know the numbers of the transom seal kit for my boat. I believe it is 18-8206 but I would like to know for sure. Also does 146.00 seem like a good price? Seems good to me

Ch your drive serial number, I think you need 18-8205, also while is apart ck the shift cable carefully--Bob

The serial number was on a sticker but it has faded to where I can not read it. What do I look for with the shift cable?http://www.marineparts.com/sierra/sierra588.aspx

That makes it a MR unit and it takes 18-8205, the outter hsg. on the cables tend to crack and break right at or near the nut that holds the in the bell hsg.--Bob

I looked at the number best I could and it looks like 6893455

Thx. I believe the difference in the two is that the 8205 has exhaust tubes

In My book you need 18-8205,..... 18-8206 is for an Alpha Gen II...........<br />You'll Also want 18-9031,.... Bellows Adhesive.... Gotta Have It......<br />18-2600 is the Lower Shift Cable kit......

The 18-8205 both ends of the u-joint bellows have clamps on Gen 2 on 1 clamp and a wedge ring
