Anyone used these? They move the engine back 2 inches. I'm looking to get the bow up a little more at wide open throttle, to gain a little more speed. They are cheaper than jack plates, which usually move the engine back 5 inches or more. On my boat 5 inches would probably make it sit too low in the stern at rest. The theory of moving the outboard more rearward of the transom is that it changes the centre of gravity making it easier to get the bow up with less up trim. This allowing the engine to push the boat ahead without wasting as much downward thrust to keep the bow up.:/:/

Re: transom spacers

I don't think 2 inches is going to help much. And I think the main purpose of moving it back is to get it in cleaner water.
It would help if we knew the specifics of the boat/motor combo. and a little more specifics on your bow up problem

Before you invest your money take a good look at the Prop forum. Exhaust all your testing avenues and then make a decision.

A differant prop and/or changed engine height on your exsisting set up may help. Moving an engine back could require you to change out the steering.
