Re: Transom woes
Damm!'
Outstanding workmanship there bunky,,Outstanding.
I spent months hemmin and hawing over mine,
I coulda fixed 6 boats by the time I made the decision.
How long did the project take once you got really stuck into it?
Thanks jonesg, I think i have about 100hours invested in the total project, alot of this time was spent contouring the transom to the deck and getting the rear panel flattened out. Sanding fiberglass is though going, but once i bought the belt sander it went a whole lot faster.
I used a total of four sanders on the job, 2 air and 2 electric.
6" round orbital, 14'' long duel piston inline, 3'' wide electric belt sander and an electric 1/3rd sheet orbital. The paint is a local product called Wattyl Colourthane 2k, basicly its an industrial 2k that dries rock hard and is pretty easy to spray.
