I have a 1974 fabuglas boat as my first. There are two holes in the transom and one at the bottom. I know the one on the bottom needs a plug but the other two i am not sure. Between the motor and the back seat is an open area for the fuel tank, battery. It fills up with water and has no way out if the plugs are in. Should those two holes be left open or do i plug them and get a bilge pump back there.

Re: Transom

I assume this is an outboard powered boat.
Those 2 upper plugs are for the splashwell. It just depends on the design of the boat but i never put the plugs in mine. The water drains out as soon as the boat gets underway.

Re: Transom

By the way WELCOME to IBOATS!

If the holes are right at the waterline while not moving it should not hurt a thing to leave them out.As long as no water is getting into the floor or bilge there should be nothing to worry about.
You could always post a picture and you will get more opinions...:)
