Transport Bracket-Which to use

I'm going to pick up my (new to me) boat and bring it home. The previous owner (my father in law) used to tie up the outdrive during transport. I'm on my way to pick up a transport bracket from a Marine Wrecking yard. They have both types: Small bracket that goes from the top of the outdrive to the gimbal (i think). And the large long bracket that hooks onto the trim cylinders.
So which is better? Which one should I get. They are both the same price: $25 bucks. (hope i'm not getting ripped off)
Thanks for the advice

this whole bracket subject is new to me. Back in my younger days, My friend and I used to tear around the lake in his dad's 19' Seaswirl with a OMC 350 I/O. We never needed a bracket (When the tilt motor worked. lol) Anyway, since my boat has been sitting a while (15 years), the outdrive is not staying up on it's own. I was going to use a bracket to get it home; 100 miles.
If I hook up a fresh battery, do you suppose I can bring life back to the trim system and the outdrive will stay up? If so, heck, i'll just use a rope as a safety measure.

If the drive has fallen, it is not an electrical thing, you have a leak somewhere.........;)

Not sure if the drive "fell". I think when my father in law put it in the garage 15 years ago, he lowered the drive so that it rested on the floor (just like i've read you're supposed to do).
Not knowing any better, I lifted the outdrive and secured it with a rope to get it moved. It was not easy, but slowly I got the drive up. I probably screwed something up, didn't I?

Not as long as you did not use a jack or some other form of brute force to move it up.....
Why didn't you just hook up a good battery & see if it would work with the switch?......
Never mind, hindsight is always 20-20......:)
You will just have to wait & see.....;)

Nope, just brute force. I've got the sore back to prove it. :D
I'm charging the battery as we speak. Wish me luck!

OK. Problem solved. I was on my way to the Marine Wrecking yard ready to fork over 25 bucks for a bracket when I stopped at different Marine supply store. 13 bucks later, and now I have a brand new set of the plasitc snap on brackets that go on the trim pistons. Thanks for the help.

All this information on what to use, and never once was it mentioned what kind of drive you are trying to keep up in the air.
