Not sure how to transport this motor. Use transom lock or not? Seems to me that it places motor much to high. Considering transom saver. Would appreciate some experienced opinions. Soon.

Transom saver saves both transom and tilt locks.

Tilt locks are intended for use when docked for long periods as it relieves pressure on the tilt mechanism and hydraulics. They are not intended to hold the motor up when bouncing down the road. Definitely use a transom saver if you have less than 16-18 inches of clearance between the skeg and the road with the engine down. Otherwise leave the motor down if there is adequate road clearance.
