We left the harbor and marina at Tadoussac on the St. Lawrence River and went up the Saguenay Fjord about 40 miles to the famed statue of Mary high on the cliffs above the water. The granite cliffs are many hundreds of feet high and the depth of the water just 50 feet out from where the cliffs enter the water is as much as 800 feet deep. As we headed up the fjord we were met by small pods of all white beluga whales.
The total miles thus far for our 3,500 mile adventure is 1,198 miles, with 99 hours on the engines. Only 2,300 more miles to go.
